GETTING TO CHERRY HOUSE

You can arrive at Cherry House in a variety of ways.

There is very limited Public Transport available to and from Polinago.
The closest rail station is Sassuolo and then a regular bus service to Pavullo, where you can be picked up.

Parking

Free off street secure parking is available for cars and motorbikes.

Getting to us by Train

Bologna is approximately (depending on traffic) a 90 minute drive to Polinago. It is a major rail hub for all the fast trains from other capital cities like Milan, Florence, Rome and Naples. It is also a regional train hub.
The train also arrives in our capital city Modena, although you would have to change trains in Bologna as these are mainly regional train services arriving here and the FrecciaBianca (slowest of the Fast trains) does come via Modena several times a day.
For any information regarding trains have a look at the following website to book your tickets directly on line Trenitalia. Please be informed that it is only possible to book your tickets 3 months in advance.
If you wish, we can book rail tickets for you. They are sent directly to your email address and you MUST either print off a copy of the ticket to bring with you or save it to your smart phone.

Getting to us by Air

The airports near Cherry House are: Bologna – This is the closest airport, we can pickup & drop off here, or you can catch a local train to Modena.
There 3 airports in Milan area, Malpensa, Linate and Bergamo. Malpensa is the main airport and is the only one with direct train access to Milan and beyond. Linate & Bergamo have bus services to Milan.

Pickup and Drop off

We provide a pick up and drop off service from/to the following:
Bologna railway station or airport €75 each way per single/couple
Modena railway station €50 each way per single/couple
Other pick up and drop off locations on request.
It is most important that you provide us with your TRAIN NUMBER AND CARRIAGE NUMBER so that we can meet you on the platforms as railway stations are generally busy areas. PLEASE REMAIN ON THE ARRIVAL PLATFORM otherwise we will not find you.

Travel in Italy

Due to the many years spent in Italy and an understanding of the railway networks, airports and road network, we would be pleased to assist with any questions you may have.
We are also available to book your rail tickets, ferry tickets and museum tickets on line as well as accommodation in other parts of Italy for a small fee. Please contact info@cherryhouseinitaly.com for further information.

Advice

Due to the winding mountain roads, if you suffer from motion sickness you may wish to consider bringing appropriate medication with you.

Residing at Cherry House are a small Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Marty) and two cats (Carpi & Poli).

Pavullo nel Frignano located 25 minutes away has an excellent hospital with a larger hospital also in Sassuolo.
